3:51pm: The Reaper is coming
I have been really sad lately because I can't stop thinking about death. It's coming for all of us and there's nothing we can do about it. We have no idea when or where it will hit, the only thing we know for sure is that it will happen to each and every one of us and all of our loved ones. I need to quit thinking about it and I don't know how. Maybe I should take a CSI break.

4:33pm: To Whomever
I received this comment on my last entry and felt the need to respond. I probably wouldn't bother if they hadn't posted it anonymously, but it really annoys me when someone is an ass, and doesn't have enough balls to let everyone know they are. If you feel so strongly about a subject to leave an obnoxious comment on a stranger's livejournal, then at least show your face.

"the New York Dolls sucked? Wow, you're obviously pretty ignorant regarding music.... How about Madonna? I bet she rocked!"

So maybe you are from the New York Dolls and taking it in the ass from one or more of the members, but in my defense, they did suck at the particular show that I saw them at. It is just my opinion and I am entitled to it especially on my own personal Internet journal. You don't have to read it. If you have nothing better to do than whack off to your New York Dolls posters and read everyone else's Livejournal, then maybe you should take a hard look at your own life.

As for the crack on Madonna, I do like her records and any other music I can get my hands on. The ignorance in music is yours, because you are so closed minded that you can't accept other people's opinions or listen to anything outside of one genre. So if you take a break from leaving dumb ass comments on random Live Journals to read this, I just want to repeat...

THE NEW YORK DOLLS SUCKED LIVE!

11:18am: One More Day
I just have to survive one more day and then it is Thanksgiving! Yay! For the actual Thanksgiving day, we are going down to the Cape to spend it with Barry's family. I am bringing wine and a deck of cards so there will be no sitting around staring at each other. Hopefully it goes well.

On Saturday, we are throwing a Thanksgiving Part Deux with my free work turkey and boxed wine. Afterwards, everyone is heading to Tazza to dance away our green bean casserole. I think our Thanksgiving will be more fun than the real one.

Last night we went to see the Supersuckers and the New York Dolls. A local band from Boston called the Charms opened up and they were awesome! They had this cute little punky lead singer who reminded my of Pat Benetar. I definately want to pick up their CD. The Supersuckers were awesome too. After the show, Mark went up and told them that we play a couple of their songs in our coverband. They were silent and walked away from him. HAHA. Too funny! The New York Dolls sucked so Barry and I hung out in the hallway and drank more beers. Needless to say, I was 20 minutes late today. Thank goodness the bosses are out of town!

5:49pm: I wanna dip my BALLS in it
Another successful cheap beer club. We made Ikea meatballs with gravy in the fondu pot so everyone could dip their balls in it. Marisol, Mark and I played LIFE and realized that it is a terrible game! It really sets up unrealistic life goals for young kids. Everytime you roll, you end up saving and endangered species for $100,000 or writing a novel for $250,000. Firstly, no one is that talented and who gets that much for writing a novel unless they are JK Rowling?! Oh and I think we only had to pay taxes twice and I was a cop on a 90K salary (maybe on the buddy cianci payroll but come on!) So Marisol won because she had like 3 bazillion dollars and the rest of us only had like 2 bazillion.

So we ended up hanging out late, I got cursed out by the downstairs neighbors and Marisol asked a boy for his phone number (go marisol!). Barry and I stayed up until 7:30 a.m. just drinking and talking. I think I actually told him he was cheap! (well he can be) We were gonna go straight out to breakfast, but the next thing I knew, I woke up in bed at 1:30 p.m. with one of my contacts dried up on my cheek. And when we put the recycling out on Sunday I think I heard the little asian man who steals the bottles actually giggle with glee.

5:48pm: Why is hotmail so dumb?
After a long day at work I have to do MORE work for a freelance job. Of course all the files are in my hotmail and I can't get into hotmail. Everytime I try I get this message from hotmail saying they are dumb and I can't get into my account. ARGH! So probably by the time I CAN get it I will already be watching TV and REALLY not wanting to work.

Is it Friday yet?

9:00am: I have nothing to read since Marisol left
The bosses have been out all week so I had extra Internet time...however, Marisol lost her computer when Frank moved out so I have NOTHING to read! It's terrible. I think we should all get her best buy gift cards for her next birthday so she can buy a computer. And today a terrible thing happened. Have you ever dreamed that it was the weekend so when you woke up you thought it still was because you wanted it so badly? But then you finally realize that it is not the weekend and you actually have to get up and go to work. I really feel like I was cheated out of a day off.

7:46pm: I'm not Irish
but I do have a fondness for drinking and green so that should be enough to celebrate. I decided though that since I am actually German, I should start celebrating Oktoberfest. Lots of warm beer and bratwurst, and yet another reason to get really pissed!

Happy St. Pattys!

6:22pm: My Business Trip to NY
I feel so important. I had a business trip to NYC all by myself on the company dime. I had to get up at 4:30 a.m. to catch the 5:50 a.m. Acela train...that part sucked. But I had a 10:00 a.m. trend seminar to attend, which was really interesting. I got a preview of the latest styles coming out of Paris. I hate to tell everyone this, but big T-shirts over leggings is supposedly making a comeback. So are apron dresses and large belts....sigh.

After the seminar, I went to have lunch with our PR firm. We went to this nice Italian restaurant and brainstormed about press opportunitues. (Very Important) After that I was FREE! I walked around, took some pictures, saw a guy in a cowboy hat, boots and a diaper playing guitar to the tune of "I'm the naked cowboy.." NY is SO weird! Then of course I went shopping at H&M and got two shirts and a new purse and some huge mom sunglasses.

The naked cowboy is off there in the distance...I hate to say it, but he was actually kinda hot...

1:20pm: Drowning in the bottle
I had to be carried to my car by Elroy and Barry. I fell in the stairs and hit my head on the window ledge which left a big scrape on my forehead. I think I threw-up...I can't remember. Oh and I yelled extremely loud that everyone at the monster truck rally was a bad parent...and this was ALL BEFORE 10:30 p.m.! Just a typical Saturday night. I am seriously out of control and I definately need to cool it on my drinking before I seriously hurt myself or someone else.

And there are a lot of things I want to do and I'm just not getting them done. I drink so much that the day after is spent in bed eating bad food, recovering. I can't play music or get back into sewing or even read a book. It is really getting ridiculous! Not to mention the weight gain and the money spent purely on alcohol. It is such a waste! SO...I am putting into a effect a weekly drink maximum of 4 drinks. That way, even if I drink them in 1 night, it will be enough to get drunk but not falling down the stairs, vommiting on myself drunk. Yuck!

11:36am: New Music
I have purchased a few CD's in the past month and I must say that they contain some pretty good music!

1. The Greatest by Cat Power - *** - I had to listen to this one a few times for it to grow on me. It does sound a litte bit more "adult contemporary" than her previous albums, but there is just something soothing about her voice and the combination of instruments that makes it work outside of a dentist's office.

2. The Life Pursuit by Belle & Sebastian - ***** - I have only had a chance to listen to this once through, but I fell in love after the first track. It is a little more upbeat from their last album but the same old sound and a few more harmonies.

3. Standing in the Way of Control by the Gossip - **** - I first heard this one in Marisol's car and had to get it for myself. She says she didn't like it the first time through, but I really did. It is definately more dancy, but hey..what's wrong with dancy?!

And by the way, why is there a woman in the office with strange children talking about giving her children suppositories and their constipation issues?! Is it possible that people actually become that un-interesting when they breed?

5:45pm: Getting it together
The biker party was fantastic! Barry, Elroy and I practiced really hard for playing and I think it sounded really good. Everyone told me I should try out for American Idol. ha ha. Not really my cup of tea. BUT we did get an offer for another party gig in a couple of months with 150 people!!! hello Rock Star! But I am serious about it and I would really like to practice at least once a week and play some townie bars or something. It was just fun...even practicing was fun. Boys aren't good at setting up and organizing though so I am taking this into my own hands. Rian and Brenda even said we could use their barn as a studio. PERFECT! So does anyone know of any drummers looking to play country and classic rock?

Also, I got a raise and promotion at work today. I will be National Account Manager which included a pay raise AND I get to hire an assistant....maybe two! It will be a lot more work, but much more interesting and beneficial to my career. I am really psyched about it. Especially the pay raise which will probably be nothing after taxes (grr taxes) but at least it's something.

6:31pm: Mother Trucker
Me, Barry, Marisol, K8, Teddy and Elroy are the proud owners of MONSTER JAM TRUCK RALLY tickets! I can't wait! We are gonna get beer hats and wife beaters that say "Mother Trucker" and eat hot dogs and shout "YEAH GRAVEDIGGER!" in Southern accents. You're all jealous. I know.

4:52pm: I hate to admit it...
but I would really like to get something sparkly for Valentine's Day.

6:13pm: Another Day, Another Dollar
Is it just me or has this week been crawling like molasses in winter? Thank GOD tomorrow is Friday. Gabriel and Cady are having a dinner party before he ships back to Iraq. I am going to make my Rhode Island Renowned Spinach Artichoke dip. Saturday Barry wants to go to the Cape to see his family. I am going to sneak a deck of cards into my purse. Why do we have to sit and stare at each other? Wouldn't a nice, rousing game of Go-Fish make a better visit? I think so. I think his little sister Hannah would be into it too. No 12 year-old-kid wants to hang around with a bunch of grown-ups talking about the weather. Heck, I don't even want to hang out with a bunch of grown-ups talking about the weather.

So I think this weekend will be pretty quiet sans Friday. I can't wait until next weekend with Cheap Beer Club and discussions of Bowling/Karaoke have come up as well. hmm.

4:33pm: I lost 2 lbs. this week...thank you bacteria!
After the gym on Thursday night, my stomach hurt REALLY bad. I laid down for a while and whined in agony when all of a sudden I felt my corn chowder from earlier making a comeback. As I cried, retching over the toilet, I thought to myself. "Why me?"

I think the worst part about it was, was that Barry had a friend over that I had NEVER met before that night and they both were sitting there and listen to it. And then I was pissed because after the 3rd time I asked Barry when his friend was leaving and he ended up staying until 1:00 a.m.! Stop me if I am wrong, but if you were over at someone's apartment while someone else there was violently ill, wouldn't you leave? Or, if you were Barry wouldn't you say "Whoah, she is really sick. Do you mind if we hang out some other time?" I think that is what a normal person would do, but apparently not my boyfriend.

Yes, I am venting, but really, who likes to vomit with an audience? NO ONE!

9:01am: Recovery time
I have noticed that now I am on the bad side of 20, my drinking recovery time keeps extending. Usually after a night of partying I spend the entire next day in bed watching movies, giving of the strong smell of stale beer and BO. I am not saying that I am going to quit, but I think I just need to not drink an entire 12 pack every time I go out. How does one learn these things called boundaries? Maybe I should just look into a mirror and say over and oaver again "No thanks, I don't need another one." I will have to practice that.

12:06pm: The Big Apple means Bizness
I had my first very important business excursion yesterday. I took the Acela down to NYC to meet with our PR firm and discuss our agenda for 2006. Very important. It was a 5 hour long meeting full and I got done just in time to walk back to Penn Station and catch my train. It was gorgeous outside yesterday and I couldn't find a cab so I decided to walk. Of course I was wearing very important business shoes and as I walked the blisters formed. I was in excruciating pain when I finally boarded the train. And I had to walk right past the huge H&M and NOT go in. What torture!

When I got back we went to meet Marisol for her birthday dinner at Haruki. The crowd that gathered was so large that we had to take up 2 tables! Marisol is so popular, and with just cause. We drank a shit ton of saki bombs and then I went home and went to bed.

This morning I got up and got my hair cut. It was feeling a little too "Mom" style. But I got it cut and it still looks a little "Mom" style to me. Is that because I am looking older and just look like a mom no matter what I do? How horrifying!

After my cut I went to Yankee Spirits to stock up on booze for the party. Since we had no room in our fridge for all the beer, we had to start drinking. So I am enjoying a cold beer at noon and making a party CD for tonight. YAY!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MARISOL!

9:29am: Where o' Where has my weekend gone?
I spent both nights of the weekend drinknig heavily. Friday we had our cheap beer club meeting and Marisol and I, determined to make it fun, got drunk and started a dance party. However, we were mostly dancing by ourselves because everyone else was determined not to get crazy. Saturday, Barry, Mark and I started at Wickenden pub for a beer and then watched Brian and Dug's show at Zog. Then back to Wickenden pub with Elroy and then to Steam Alley where we met Marisol and THEN back to my apartment for more drinks. We were up until 5:30 a.m. and the neighbors yelled at us twice...whoops. Needless to say I spent the entirety of Sunday in bed watching movies. It felt like it didn't even exist. I think next weekend I will have to keep it as little more tame. My liver is on strike!

13th January 2006

6:10pm: Freaky Friday?
And the freakiest of all things has happened. Cameron and I are communicating via email. I know. I am shocked as well. It all began when Marisol told me she saw him and he said to tell me "hello". I figured I would give it a shot and send him an email. He replied and we have been chatting all day. I think maybe turning 30 has caused him to cut the drama and let things go. I am glad. I really don't like leaving bad blood and he and I were such good friends. What a waste to throw away. What I find the strangest is even though we separated, we traveled on very similar paths. Cheap beer and frisbee. ha ha.

AND I BOOKED MY TICKET TO AZ!!! I will be there for Jill's wedding May 18 - 22. I want to see everyone and everything during that time so keep your calendars free. I miss everyone!

5:53pm: I am outta the LJ loop
Did I even know Jana was sick? Did I know Jill was getting married in May?! Did Ziggy and Erika change their LJ?! Where are the New Year's pics?!

These questions lead me to believe that I need to check out LiveJournal a little more often. And perhaps update. Even though nothing exciting is going on. It is winter so I spend many of my evenings watching reality TV including the Biggest Loser. Where I can eat chips in my sweatpants and watch motivated people change their lives while I do nothing...however, they are motivated people who aren't working at the time and have hours to spend at the gym.

My New Year's resolutions:
1. Complete the Wickenden Beer club card and get my name on the wall of shame
2. Be on time
3. Get in shape

1 and 3 are going OK, but I think I have to throw 2 out. I was being a bit ambitious with 3 resolutions after all. I am going to the gym twice a week and I might move to one closer to home so I can go more often. I am not giving up Taco Bell, but perhaps I can do a little bettter working it off. And as of now, I am already 10% done with the beer club card which is fantastic for it only being January.

Things I am looking forward to:
RI Cheap Beer club this Friday with imported Yueng-a-ling!
Marisol's Birthday party (theme yet to be decided)
Watching Flight of the Navigator tonight

Ok, that is it. I will try to check this shit more than once a month though so I can keep in touch!

12:25pm: My Morning in Court
I had to go to traffic court this morning for my expired registration. First, I had to wait outside in the pouring rain for about 20 minutes until they let us in. Then I had to stand in the back of a crowded court room with nasty people coughing and sneezing all over the me in my wet coat for an hour and a half. I finally get called up, show them my renewed registration and I am dismissed because it was COMPLETELY GAY THAT I WAS EVEN THERE!!! There has to be a better system.

10:04am: Long time no update
I have been away from Livejournal for months it feels like. Working for a Christmas ornament company, although interesting, tends to get really freaking crazy around the holidays. But now that it is REALLY close to Christmas, it is starting to settle down a bit and I am back to my Internet using self. After this week, I will done with school for the semester and then only one more half week before Christmas vacation!

3rd November 2005

7:20pm: RICBC 1 Year Anniversary!
Tomorrow is the 1 year anniversary of the Rhode Island Cheap Beer Club. Jill will be here, Jana will be here...it will be quite a celebration. Filled with cheap booze and even cheaper broads.

Goodness knows I need a break. This week has been HELL. Not just at work but super busy at home fun-filled with a surprise visit to the vet because my cat wouldn't stop vomitting all over the apartment after eating trash. But this weekend I am going to relax and have fun.

25th October 2005

9:22am: Where have I been?
Yeah I haven't been around much lately but not for any particular reason. I have been busy at work so that keeps me from checking my email 100 times a day like normal. And then I have homework to do at home, and I have to make mine and Barry's Halloween costumes AND my sister is coming this weekend so I have to clean up my house for her arrival. And because it is a little chilly now, all I really want to do is sleep and watch TV. I fell asleep during CSI last night! What a loser. Well anyways, hopefully I will get to see everyone out this weekend at Brandie's party on Saturday.
